Embark on a delightful 5-6 km trek to Bhadraj, an ideal choice for beginners and those seeking a taste of the wilderness. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the trail as you ascend through lush forests and picturesque meadows. This short yet rewarding trek promises an enchanting experience amidst the serene landscapes of Bhadraj.
The Bhadraj Temple stands as a tribute to Lord Bal Bhadra, also known as Balram, the esteemed brother of Lord Krishna. Located on the majestic Queen’s Hill in Mussorie’s western region, this temple holds deep spiritual significance. To reach the Bhadraj Temple, adventurers can take either of two trails that lead to its serene abode.
The first trail is a circular path that commences and concludes in Mussorie. Encompassing the Cloud End Road and Dhudli village, this route offers a diverse journey filled with natural wonders. Alternatively, the second route begins at the quaint village of Koti, with a final destination of the Bhadraj Temple. For those starting at Koti, the hiking distance to the temple is approximately 8 km, while the road distance from Isbt Dehradun to Koti is approximately 34 km.
For convenience, transportation can be arranged from Mussoorie or arranged to return from Koti after the hike. Our team curated a remarkable day hike from Koti, designed to explore the less-traveled path near Dehradun. As the trail winds through enchanting forests and meadows, it gifts trekkers with captivating panoramic views of Dehradun and Vikas Nagar.
During the monsoon season, Koti transforms into a verdant wonderland, adorned with blooming wildflowers and a playful interplay of clouds. However, to fully embrace the beauty of this journey during the monsoons, it’s crucial to be well-prepared. Rain gear, such as a raincoat or umbrella, should be tucked into your backpack as rain is a familiar companion in the mountains.
The lush trails of the monsoon also harbor a variety of leeches. To thwart their enthusiasm, make sure your shoes are securely fastened and carry a small bottle of salt solution. Applying drops of the salt solution to any affected areas will ensure a comfortable trekking experience.
In the heart of this picturesque landscape lies the Bhadraj Temple, a sanctuary of tranquility and spirituality. Embark on this journey to not only connect with nature’s splendor but also to pay homage to Lord Bal Bhadra amidst the serene surroundings.
